We ave conceded 7 tries against Batley and Oldham.

It is not good enough.

I think most of us know who has the worst defence in our side and it is not Ryan.

I agree our defence out wide is weak, Oldham's 1st try should have been stopped. I'd send our wingers & centres off to tackling & wrestling practice with the forwards. I do think defence was our weak point last season, we seemed to have a "It's OK if we concede we'll just score more than them" attitude which just doesn't work against SL teams, they'll just pin you down on your own try line. Think we need to realise that a set defended on our own try line is worth just as much (if not more) than a try scored. Said before I'm not too bothered about running up big scores against lesser Championship teams this year I'd far rather us try to nil them, will be far better practice for the Super 8s. Need to play every minute of every game as if it's nil-nil.

Can't believe I am reading this. They scored 3 tries, one rather fortunately. We scored one of the best tries I have ever seen straight from the kicks off. There is not a single team anywhere in RL that would even think about that move, we pulled it of, and it isn't the first time we have done it. We punched holes in them all day. But for the odd decision from the ref, and some dropped ball we could have scored 80.

What has best try, punched holes and could have scored 80 got to do with the topic. What did you think about the defence?

Defensively we were not to bad. Like I said three tries. One was fortunate, one was a mismatch. All where from close range. Not like they where making breaks all the time.

Our defence is fine - quite brutal in my opinion, in the opposition half of the field. We do seem 'soft' though, in our own 22. (or whatever it is these days)

I agree. I've never seen a Leigh side defend in this manner. I almost feel sorry for the opposition when I see some of the hits go in. Brutal is indeed the word. As an aside, the discipline that we are showing this season also needs to be applauded.

Well that is what I mean't' in our 20 metres from our try line it is soft. Needs sorting quick imo.
