If its what I have read he is merely offering the opportunity to Jason Donohue and others to come out and identify specifically what they think is so bad about him instead of making veiled comments on social media.

So it's ok for every one who has an issue with Derek to put out stories on facebook etc for the world to see and he shouldn't defend himself? Everyone would then be saying "It must be true as the club haven't denied it".
Why don't the anti-Derek brigade just get a life and let us Leythers enjoy the great times we are having with Derek in control.

However, it doesn't help the situation when somebody is repeatedly slagging him off all over facebook on various rugby pages and people start 'tagging' Derek in this stuff to make sure that he sees it and has to read it.

He rightly took a step back from twitter when he reacted badly to repeated provocation, maybe it is time for him to do the same on facebook.

The other bloke was provoking him repeatedly with accusations, Derek replies and gets jumped on. Is it fair? No, but Derek is in the public eye and needs to either learn to ignore it, respond more professionally or just walk away from facebook. Which would be a shame as his interactions with fans are generally great and in good humour but, like it or not, he is the public face of Leigh Centurions and needs to act professional.

The man is a total Moby,he does himself mo favours in the media, he did an article for the Magazine Rugby World , from which the pics have come from,revealing all sorts of things which should have been kept private,anyone with a different opinion to King Degsy is fair game in his eyes,in my opinion the FANS own the Club ,they are the lifeblood not a Dictator,I saw his comments when fans gave negative reactions to the Replica shirts,and I heard he lambasted Mr P Rowley after the Warrington friendly ,not very wise actions.
However I fear for Leigh as a Club in case Degsy decides to jump ship.I must say Chutney tastes very nice.

I don't see much wrong with the message itself. He does have the right to defend himself and the club, and if the Q&A was to happen would probably have as big an attendance as any LISA meeting for a while.

What I would say is that the tone of the message didn't do anyone any favours. The point was to repute any rumours that had started and be an invite to a meeting that would clear the air, or clarify any grievances in an open forum. Also, I suspect, the point was to make it clear to the public that the invitation was made. Could've been a short, fairly dry message, and would have far more of a desired impact.

He did right, the stuff being written is shocking and needs correcting. We have a mentality in this town to knock success, many are happy when things are poor - Little Leyther mentality.
