| It's clear from the forum that there are mixed opinions about Derek Beaumont. However, like him or dislike him, he's clearly putting significant money into the club to allow us to sign quality players to try to get us to super league. I'm not sure that I'd be willing to do the same in his shoes!
It's remarkable how far the club has progressed in the last few years. In 2016, we'll have a team made up of quality players, playing in a top facility, hopefully, in front of even more fans. Compare this to a few years ago or when we still played at Hilton park! Who would have dreamed of a Leigh team with chase, Hansen, Patterson, higham, moi moi etc playing in a stadium like the lsv.
It's up to us all to keep the momentum up. Whether we make super league or not, it's imperative that the club can, as far as possible stand on its own two feet. The more we back the club, the more likely Beaumont and others will continue to invest in the club and it will evidence whether the town actually wants a super league club.
Do what you can, buy a season ticket, convince your mates to do the same or to attend a game, and let's keep the momentum up.
And most of all, let's enjoy the ride in 2016!

| I think I recall Derek saying that if he decides not to continue to financially back the club then he'll return it to a part time club like before his recent investment.
I suppose it's the best opportunity we've had for a while to continue to raise the bar for the club - more season ticket holders, more shirt sales, more lctv subscribers etc. Therefore the club itself will hopefully get to a stage where it either doesn't need investment (possibly on a squad budget, at a guess, of 650k) or doesn't need too much investment. It's in everyone's interest to now make the club the strongest that it can be. The last thing we want is to allow an individual to finance the club and then for the to hit the fan if that finance stops.
The chicken and egg scenario has been discussed many times before - more fans get better players or get better players and hope the fans will follow. Now we've got the facility and the players and we all need to do our bit, no matter how small that is.
I've also bought a season ticket although it would be cheaper for me to pay per game due to work commitments. I'll also see if I can afford to sign up for Lisa.
True, fair play to all of the board and everyone else who has helped to grow the club over the last few years.

| you dont have to join LISA to give funds to the club there are other ways.try joining the Lottery giving funds to the club plus the chance to win something back. How about buying christmas draw tickets (great prizes). Have you bought tickets for the Q & A for tuesday night. Any function run by any department of our great club should be supported. LISA run coaches to all away games why not use them? there are numerous ways of raising your donations to the club. Half time draw tickets can reward your efforts. The list of ways just keeps growing. A great Match Day programme coukd be better supported. Nuff said

That's a relief. Thank goodness we won't have to go through the stress (or disappointment) of the Qualifiers again, this coming season!
