| Quote TheButcher="TheButcher"You suffered with exactly what I posted here last week. Which was your ability to play a different game plan and adapt when things don't go your way. Your team is excellent at playing broken-play and 'desperation' RL. Not many better. It's been enough to carry you through the Championship but you'll need to have more brains when up against SL opposition when it counts. Or know how to grind out a result when it matters. It's all a learning curve I suppose and beating SL opposition in the cup earlier in the season probably did you no good in the long run. Winning one-off games can bring a false sense of security under these circumstances and I think you can be forgiven for having high hopes going into the 8's.
I'm sure the last two games will bring lessons for the team and you need to be careful not to drop down the gears when you play other Championship sides. Remembering that they've also learned valuable lessons playing SL opposition. You can't afford a slip-up against fellow Championship opposition if you have designs on that important one-off game.
As for today, Salford are strong at home with a pretty much full strength side in comparison to last time you played us. When Chase performs, it doesn't really matter who plays against us. Your forwards couldn't get the better of Salfords for pretty much the full game, and along with Dobson, Chase managed the game in a better fashion.
Chin-up fellas and lasses. Long way to go yet.'"
Pretty much spot on for me. Might have been a different game had we scored next at 22-12 but not to be. Pick ourselves up and go again next week.

No, it's that we've spent 2 seasons facing opposition that doesn't challenge us. How can a side improve in that environment?

How many tires did you guys have disallowed? At least 2 of those I thought were tries, I was stood in that corner. Those are awarded and half time is much closer.
Still think our fitness and overall game management sees us through, but the score flatteted us slightly.
Salary cap gives massive advantage needs looking at for next season
Great following as expected, all stayed til the end, respect. Made up with out victory was very worried pre match.
Best of luck for the rest of the qualifiers

Think the only one that could have gone either way was the no-try in the corner. Looking at the replays it could have gone 50-50 if it was a video ref decision. Full speed it looked bounced though. Forward calls, meh. Sometimes you get them sometimes you don't, whether they are or not. Every team suffers from this. If the game was closer then these incidents become more prevalent. Salford scoring freely was Leigh's problem, rather than what-ifs.

Not seen the replays, the one in the corner looked a try, the one breirley got close to from the kick looked close. Still tho j we deserved the win.

| Well I'm feeling pretty upbeat. It was'nt our best performance by a mile but we did show that we can open up SL sides quite easily and score. No kicking game again today for me and defence was by far our worst of the season. At least we out sung them though. North stand take a bow again you were excellent. Todays crowd was 1000 more than last week. Says bundles about both last weeks following.

| Think the way we are playing at the moment, Bradford or Halifax will beat us. Even when we played Warrington away in the cup, we gave them a game. But Salford (who were in botom 4 for a resaon) beat us very easily today. If we don't beat Wakefield next week, can't see us finishing in the top 5.

We're an inconsistent team. We can play awful, but we can also play well.
We're still a team that went unbeaten against Catalan and Wakefield, beat both Hull sides, Widnes, Huddersfield and Wigan this year. So regardless of our finishing position, we're no pushovers. I think you'll need to play better against Wakey who are much improved. If you turn-up thinking that it's a certain two points they'll win. Will be a nervy day for sure.

| As long as the SL clubs keep beating the champ clubs it won't be over next week if we lose. However lose to a champ side and we are gone. The aim was SL, its moved that little bit further away these last two weeks. For what its worth after the 2nd half last week I thought we would get tatered today, but we are more than capable of beating Wakey. Salford are a far better team than 11th place suggests. Beat the champ clubs and hopefully Widnes will already be up before our game against them. I really hope it doesn't come down to points difference.
