what an awful game

Personally I think Wigan were poor tonight but still won comfortably , no disrespect to Wakey they are not that bad and I think they will be a very hard team to beat ,the speed they played was good and the full back had a nightmare game , but I think they will give us a very close game.

Bless.....unlike every game that we play in the championship that is 'top drawer' stuff. I enjoyed the 1st half ( i am so sorry), but as I am not an ex player/coach like yourself, I know where you are coming from.

Ian that was the worst game of SL that I have seen and it makes them look like Championship 2 compared to the NRL.
Wakey do not play as a team and that is their worst fault. I don't think that Smith and the lad who came from Leeds - the hooker - are worth their shirt. Their players are going down with injuries all the time and that tells me that some don't want to play. I like to see players who miss tackles get up and run to get back in the line. Not lay on the floor feigning hurt, then when the try is disallowed, getting up. I'm sure PR would not stand for that. I see Lee Gaskel was there in their coaches box tonight. Well they could do with him now and I think that Lee would be the player to bring them to a mid table team. They need a real leader now or they will fold. We would have thumped Wigan tonight.

Tony I think you are being a bit hard on Wakey , I've seen far worse SL games ,Smith is a Maverick of a player , I didn't see Gaskell but I'm a big fan of his , I still think Wakey will give us a hard game ,I bet you are glad to back ?

I'll be glad when I see them lads run out in that cherry and white on Sunday Ian. I hate missing games now. Even when I'm on holiday.

Because that is where the £££ is & Super League is a possibility.

Agree there to some extent, whilst our main aim is to gain promotion and I think we have to go for that firstly, the players will enjoy testing themselves against better teams and a good cup run is good for the fans too.

As for Wakey, I like Wakey, love their fans, they are a bit like us a small club punching above their weight! However they have stayed in Super League since being promoted.

Ive special memories of a Saturday night there in 2006 when we went to watch Wakey v Wigan, when we was in York for the weekend (we was playing on the Sunday), we walked past all the Wigan lot and stood with the Wakey fans singing Wakey Wakey and they beat Wigan that night, it was a great night.
back to our cup match, I think it will be a close game and I m not sure which way it will go.

To be honest I’ve been disappointed with most SL games this season, up until last weekend when the big guns played one another it has been very poor in the main.

It’s as if the SL coaches have such strict and set game plans, defensive patterns etc that they just seem to cancel one another out.

It made me laugh watching the Salford game on SKY to hear O’Connor say something along the lines of “Leigh are difficult to play against, you just don’t know what they are going to do, because they don’t know!”



And although I disagree with him to a certain extent as I do think Rowley and the lads do know what we’re doing, in comparison to SL I can understand why he made the comment as most plays in SL are just a simple set, a good kick, field position and look to score when in their 20, were as our attitude is how do we score from here, regardless of field position.

) Seriously though, I know promotion is the big aim but until the Super 8s actually start, while we're still top of The Championship & winning, it's probably a good thing to occasionally give our self a challenge in the Challenge Cup rather than a distraction.
