Because if that individual just happens to be the owner of the club, could be seen as payment from the club to the player.

That said - If the lawyers say there's no case to answer it's a non-story.

This is a tough one for Salford.

Hock plays and Salford win I think Marwan will just let this clause in Hock's contract go without further action.

Hock plays and Leigh win and Marwan pursues this through the courts then he will look like a very bad loser.

Because no player can be prevented from earning their Bread and Butter..

As our resident clown says, my rubbish is as good as anyone’s, so here’ mine.

1. The RFL stating they’ve no plans to get involved, indicates that this agreement hasn’t been lodged with them therefore nothing to prevent Leigh from selecting Hock against Salford, and should any action be taken it would a private/civil matter between Hock and the Doc/Salford.

2. Can’t see any action being taken against Leigh Centurions, they’ve no agreement with Salford or the Doc, nor broken any RFL operational rules.

3. If it goes to court. Hasn’t the Doc broken the confidential agreement first by publicly telling the world “Hock won’t play, I have it in writing” Hock could say if selected I was going to phone in sick and not play but because the Doc made it public knowledge, it put me in an untenable situation with my current employer, and I’d now be in breach of Contract.

4. Also some Salford fans have stated the Doc will stop paying Hock, well even that to me is on iffy ground, Hock had a contract of Employment with Salford, they wanted him out and agreed a settlement, this is therefore monies Hock is entitled to and Hock could have a valid case at an Employment tribunal.

To me the Doc should have covered his bases by registering this agreement with the RFL and keeping hold of his playing registration to make sure Hock and his agent had it written into any new contract with his new employer.

IMO this will just fade away especially should Salford win.
