Quote: maurice "Think Andy moving on put me in the sights (-;. Would love to dig up some of my suggestions for a community owned club via a supporters trust to share the burden and promote an open book approach, we may end up with that if we roll and Derek meets his promise of 100k to kick start it.
When we took over we simply didn't have the cash to fund a failing business, Derek did and put it in - will never knock him for that as he gave me and mine some great memories but like any small club competing uphill against bigger foes, it comes in cycles. So it will soon be time to rally and fight for the club we love - I wonder if we can get a better response to the rallying call than we did last time, plenty in Leyth with big Gobs and sewn up pockets.
So what would I like to see in 2019 onwards - Debt written off, shares opened up, a new mutual partnership with LSV (IF NOT WE MOVE OUT), really engage the community again, partner our junior clubs, run a reserves and put smiles back on fans faces - ALL CAN BE EASILY DONE if we all do our bit towards a clear vision, and I would like Derek in there somewhere so he can enjoy match days again.'"
You won't see 100k from DB..Well not without a clause. He awaits whats in the pipeline. Why do you suddenly see reason now,but couldn't see it before? Have you been ordained MO?
I'll buy a season ticket tomorrow (not a problem) to support the club. But i wont place the money in the hands of imbeciles. If you want clear vision for youth then I'd look at starting afresh without the likes of DB. He had no vision for the future, the Community game was a white elephant to him, he killed the reserves in order for what? Glory, he found and has now well and truly lost it.
If he still had the passion the money wouldn't be an object.
Yet you still want him invloved. Amazing.
