WARRINGTON Borough Council has announced details of emergency road closures in the north of the borough to come into force on Sunday.
The A579 Winwick Lane will be closed to vehicles from its junction with the M6 to the borough boundary with Wigan and Sandy Brow Lane will be closed from its junction with the the A579 Winwick Lane for a distance of 200 metres in a south easterly direction.
It is not expected the closures will be for more than five days and they will be effective between 7am and 6pm when signs will be displayed on site.
An alternative route via the A572 Newton Road, A572 Southworth road, A49 Mill Lane, A49 Winwick Road, A49 Newton road, A49 Winwick Link Road and vice versa.
The reason for the emergency closures is to allow the council to carry out urgent carriageway maintenance and gully repairs.
