Could do with a chat with him - he cost my dad his debut! Apparently my dad was down to play his first game on Good Friday 1962 (I know this because my mum said she was expecting my sister - mum fainted in the crowd and woke up in Leigh Infirmary!) anyway, Ray declared himself fit so my dad (John Donohue) sat on the 'bench' - no subs in them days!
So my dad got close to making an appearance!
I have around 90 emails for players who have played for Leigh (not bad considering we have had 1340 players play for Leigh!) - we are trying our best to get lads to be part of the association. Please keep spreading the word about the association - it can only be successful if we can get numbers up!
