Football players are generally world class international athletes, so would fall into 'exceptional skills' or whatever sub category its officially called. Amateur rugby players dont fall into same category.

Plus they bring millions of pounds of Tax Revenue in,which helps when considering Visas,I think if you looked at overseas RL players very few stay over here once they stop playing and I would say they are a very low risk visitor to our shores and only stay when employed. | | |
