Hiya been to Leigh a couple off times but only on night games and got there late, just wondering what the beat watering holes were, noticed that Robin Hood pub looks decent is that walkable, going with me dad who's a bit lazy, also are you allowed to drink in the park inn? Thanks
You could always go into Leigh town centre as lots of pubs do real ale at reasonable prices. You can catch a bus 597 to the LSV from the bus stop in front of Leigh bus station. On Sundays the service runs every hour at about 20 minutes to the hour.
Re the Robin Hood I would say yes it is within walking distance but it depends on how mobile your dad is of course.
The Park Inn does sell drinks and there is another pub on the site called the Whistling Wren.
There is also the Legends bar on the West side of the stadium before you go into the ground. It's near the North Stand.
The Robin Hood does nice food, two meals for a tenner the beer is good but a bit on the expensive side £3 for a pint of lager for instance, nice walk through the Country Park towards the stadium, perhaps 25 mins. As previously mentioned The Whistling Wren is virtually outside the turnstiles, nice food in there too, nice beer garden if a nice day. Park Inn ok too. Town Centre pubs - there are plenty- a good place to watch the earlier matches is the George and Dragon in the town centre - 15-20 minutes walk from the ground- nice atmosphere in there but no food.
