Owlerton is used for a lot of stock car racing, it would be difficult to have a rugby pitch in the middle considering how much damage the cars do.
What about sharing with an amateur football team like Sheffield FC or Stocksbridge P.S.?
Judging by the lack of fans on a weekly basis and their pathetic turn out at the NRC final, I think unfortunately apathy will win the day.
My kids train at Hillsborough Hawks and there are a few Eagles jerseys worn by kids but mostly its Super League clubs shirts.
Its sad that in a city this size that very few people care if there is a RL team or not.
