Look at the photo that goes with the caption "Hull KR are in talks" in the Sporting Life article - doesn't look like the ideal forum for talks, to me

Quote Michael_Ward="Michael_Ward"The point is about whether having top 6 SL ambitions for a club like Featherstone is realistic or sensible.
The combined population of Featherstone + Pontefract is slightly less than that of Leigh, without including any of the other traditional Leigh strongholds.
Looking at both clubs, we're in very similar situations. Relatively small populations, close proximity to neighbouring SL clubs. For either club to achieve the crowd figures required to sustain a top half SL team seems like a big ask.
With a sugar daddy, both clubs could enjoy a modicum of success, but it's only ever going to be short lived, and it will go very badly wrong when the money is gone.
So the question remains, what makes Nahaboo want be involved at Fev when there is no prospect of any money being made? You either do it for the love, or for the money. If it isn't for the money, where has the love for Fev come from? And if it's not love, where are the profits going to come from??
I'm being a cynic, but there is a big, big WHY question that has me worried because I can't find a convincing reason that doesn't end up with Fev being screwed over.
And finally, read his profile... www.probiz-excellence.com/probiz/feisal.php - it gives me the creeps. This guy sounds alarm bells in my mind, and I wouldn't be surprised to find that his empire collapses quite quickly one day. I'm just hoping it doesn't take any RL clubs with it.'"
featherstone is in the 5 towns and 3 of those towns knottingley, ponte and fev are very much rovers, the only people who dont in those towns are the non drinking social outcasts, Rovers can pull from a big catchment area dont be fooled by the 14k population. in fact a lot of folk in ponte and Knottingley are more passionate about the rovers than folk from fev. as for income once again we own 17 acres of land and there are big plans to utilise this land so it brings in regular income for the club, this is a unique situation for pro rugby league clubs, if all the plans come off and there is no reason why they wont, rovers will no matter what the gates be a club that will be able to match any other in super league. we are going back to the top i now have no doubt, will take a bit of time thats all

| Our club has decided to go for the 'self-sustainability' model - to me a common sense approach, when we've gone bust a couple of times. Fev have been fortunate (?) enough to get a big backer, so good luck to them. I for one, whilst maybe a tad envious, wish them every success for the future. (apart from a couple of games or more, next season! )
