rangi chase only got 3 matches for breaking ropatis jaw so how does that work typical rfl again first the bulls then the reds are skint and now banning amature players for ever another example of how some pee in 1 pot and the rest in another !

Thats stupid..... it was a sending off and a 4 match ban at the most.
East have always not sent anyone to disclipinarys .
Its crazy for a ban that length, surely something can be done.

If SL etc followed the amateur games example of bans Rangi would have got banned for good

As I stated on the original thread the suspension is shocking, 6 to 8 would have been about right but Leigh East made a major error in not attending the meeting.

Seems very harsh in my opinion, you see a lot worse than that in our league and SL, and they only get a few match ban.

Danny Kilshaw has had a wonderful AMATEUR career. Danny, Go see your MP and get him to ask questions. Length of ban is ridiculous

The biggest question in this affair is why didn't East send anyone to the hearing? they must have known the rules re the appeals procedure ignorance of them is no excuse.

The lower the leagues the bigger the penalty it would seem, the whole discipline procedure throughout the game needs a thorough overhaul.

East told me(when James was up for an hearing) that when they send someone the player gets longer ban so they don't send anyone.
I was most upset at the time, as a player who had an excellant disaplinery record, James got 8 matches for swearing at his own players.
No one from East attended and he got 8 matches which was about half a season. Mr Chairman explained this to me at the time, as did Jame's coach at that time.
I think its disgraceful an amatuer player gets lengthy bans and SL players get away with murder, it should be the same throughout the whole of rugby league.
Think they are making Danny a scapgoat for other issues here and thats unfair. All IMHO only of course.

Correct Fred , Once the disciplinary prats realised there wasn't anyone there from Leigh East it gave them the chance to wallow in their own self importance and hit Danny excessively knowing there was no right of appeal , the rats .

And on the East's website there's no sign of anyone from the comittee answering any questions on anything , like who runs the website ? , why they didn't send a team to Skirlaugh ? , and more importantly why no one went to the disciplinary knowing the possible consequences for the lad ? .

It's all eerily quiet from the comittee , they should either shape up or ship out .

Graham bites someone s ear gets 12 matches and Danny get a year it seems wrong no matter what.
I still think that all players are innocent till proven guilty.

In RL it is the other way round, players are deemed guilty as soon as the referee takes action. The disciplinary committe take evidence and mitigation in support of the player and then decide whether to punish him or not. Attendance by the club is essential and, despite what some posters think , does help to reduce the ban/fine. Non attendance is virtually an admission of guilt and an acceptance of punishment.
