Why not bank holiday monday of CC final weekend????

I assume RFL have told us 'No' to that weekend yet Fev used it last year.

Would like to see a club comment as to why after the run we are in, fixtures, we would choose that date? Are we the big Monday Night Sky game??????????

Seems like a good oppertunity for a Special Ticket Offer! And its only like the easter fixtures so no big deal and if we had no choice we just got to get on with it.

Think we played a game (sheffield?) on that Monday a couple of seasons back, seem to remember dashing home.

Is that the same Easter fixtures that generally saw all teams play 2 games over the weekend?

Why not any day of the CC final weekend?? As you say, Fev were allowed to re-schedule to that weekend last year.....and London Skolors get a home game on the Friday night every season!!

What is the harm in playing this game on either the Friday night, or Sun/Mon afternoon??

I am sure I have read a post quite some time ago that stated we could not play Cup Final weekend because of a stag do for one of our players that had been arranged a few months ago.

No chance of us playing Wembley weekend.

The RFL are already alarmed at the lack of supporters from championship clubs at big Super League events like the 'Magic' weekend, England matches v Super League Exiles and The Challenge Cup final.

Incidently does anywhere in Leigh now run an annual Wembley coach / trip? There used to numerous pub trips as recent as 2008.

Roy Bowker and Bob Shuttleworth also used to run a full coach each from the club?

Leigh players had been given that week off,as a much needed rest, before the play-offs.

Nobody has commented on the fact that (according to the RFL and Keighley websites) Keighley have a scheduled home game with York, on the 15th - i.e. the day before they play us!

Was always going to be a weeknight, just a case of trying to fit it in with pitch work/Premier Sports games/Swinton games etc. Very little space in the fixture list really, and even playing on Challenge Cup weekend might not have been the greatest idea, with people arranging to go away etc because of what is generally a gap in the fixtures for us.

From a personal point of view, it's a nice start to a few days off work before I go to Belgium to watch Hibs later that week

Fine for me it's a game I thought I may miss due to hols, but it's the day before we go away, a bit of a rush to get the DVD out and the coaches special pendrive copy but hey ho that's life.
