Quote: TV BOY "Well I think that these rules and the flat pass rules are leading to inconsistencies in officiating and are doing nothing for our game. It makes it easier for an official who is prejudiced against a team or town to hide behind his or her decisions. It also helps the governing body to defend an official who makes bad decisions because the are too many ambiguities in there. Is this wrestling tripe just getting us ready for us joing the RU leagues because I personally hate it. When a player has stopped making forward progress and it is clear that that he is tackled then the tackle is complete. Some officials are waiting and waiting and waiting somemore to give the attacking team more time to get the ball out. It is open to abuse and a clear and strict rule is needed. It does no good to my blood preasure and voice box when I'm on the terrace.'"
Oh Lord you Leythers make me chuckle! Completely, utterly clueless.
Regarding the game, the pass in the first half was forward but Leigh could have been pinged 25 times for infringements at marker, jesus if that was a SL game you'd not have touched the ball from being penalised so much. Thaler was VERY lenient with yourselves but, it made for a better spectacle. Overall he's not the best official but on friday, you didn't get a raw deal. I genuinely think many of Leigh's speccies are still stuck in the 70's and still shout for calls like 'crossing' or 'feeding'.
