We only really want Spencer, and we could do without him now we've got Nash and Laithwaite.

I don't think we need them to be fair. Laithwaite and Brierley are both adding a lot to the team at present (as did Spencer when we had injuries in the forwards) .. but I don't think McNally or any of the wingers have done anything wrong to make may for a DC

I'd like to think its our decision not to keep Russell, and W*gan have done what's best for him to try to get him some game time. Hopefully they'll help us out later on in the season if we get short again.

I think our own players deserve to play for their own club.

No we have one DC in laithwaite and two on loan in brierley (season) and Nash ( month ) also no-one acutally knows what's goin on with shaw, never seen anything official to say not with us anymore although suspect he's not

Russell is a quality player who should become a Wigan great in time but at present who in their right mind would drop McNally, and we have Pownall and Maden who could step in.
Spencer is a frequent first teamer at Wigan and they helped us out hugely for the Fax game, would like to see Spencer as a mutually beneficial DC alternating between the two.
Laithwaite is the huge assist this year, he is a future international imo and balances our pack out well with TG on the other side.
Brierley is a joy to watch.

It's obvious that Hull knew they were going to be without a full back though now that Wade McKinnons gone. Just glad they didn't look at Gregg McNally.
