Quote: Scooter Nik "I love the way you all seem to think that Richard Lewis does every little job at the RFL himself.
By god, he must be a busy man these days for someone who works - what was it? - three days a week.
I think you'll find this thing called 'delegation' goes on. If you want to point the finger, find out who was responsible for the actual decision. I can promise you that it won't be Lewis, any more than the chairman of WH Smiths decides what goes on which shelf.'"
Don't buy that on two counts - firstly, the franchising decision is one of if not the most important decisions made every three years (apart from which pie(s) Nigel is going to have for lunch), so you would hope that Lewis was very heavily involved, otherwise why are we paying him so much? Secondly, as Starbug said, the buck has to stop with the leadership - goes with the territory.
How many times are these questions of credibility going to be raised?
If I once heard a shred of humility from the man, even the merest whiff of an apologetic attitude then I might be more sympathetic.
