Quote Alan="Alan"The club looked into the use of the East stand for the junior centurions, but it would have to be fully stewarded, and there is a significant cost attached to that one. If we let people into it free, then we will lose money on it.'"
It wasn't suggested to be the junior centurions stand, the suggestion was for the north end of the east stand to be used as a family stand for certain matches following on from work done in the schools by the Leigh Youth and Community Trust , and Alan, you knew that
As for the assertion that free tickets ' always ' end up in the hands of regular fans, yes they do, if we continue with the ' lazy ' management style we have come accustomed to at Leigh Centurions, no disrespect here , but the initiatives we are currently witnessing do not impeed upon the matchday routines of the people who have come up with them
Support the community dept properly and I will personally get 4/500 families into the stadium with a guarantee that 99 % of the tickets given out dont get into the hands of people who are not entitled to have them
Ditto the away travel idea ( rather than blanket cheap tickets to all and sundry ) , bite the bullet and I will personally bring 4/500 away fans from the nearest other Championship clubs, keighley,Dewsbury,Batley,Fax and Fev, possibly more with the last 2
These two ideas, working together will give us 3/4 games with attendances closer to 4,000 than 3,000 , and will result in more Leigh fas in the future
