I personally read the forum often but only really post when commenting after my opinion of a game or on future talent etc! People sometimes disagree with what I say or may even listen or agree but that's the point of this forum! Personally think mods lock threads when names are mentioned too often or slanging between posters goes on! Just cos I don't post lots I do read it lots and enjoy it! Sure the mods are just doing their job and sometimes my hectic lifestyle stops me from posting or may have no opinion to offer! But I enjoy it all the same!

I do think that the message board has become inaccessible to new users and fans, if someone has an opionion that some more seasoned fans disagree with, they get blown out of the water and don't come back.

I just think people could be more pleasant and offer opinions, rather than ranting and name calling.

Saying that, I have been pleasantly suprised with the discussion on the recent marketing strategy, with fans talking about it like adults. (although I havn't read the thread since yesterday yet)

The post was agreed with a club official. I posted it on this message board (and it's been posted on the club board and LeighLife) to give it maximum exposure to supporters - to keep them informed of what's going on.

Someone at the club requested that the post be removed, I believe, because the subject matter hadn't been fully discussed at the club. There was nothing sinister about what happened - it was mainly a matter of timing. Hence, I believe, Wayne's remark - with the 'Laughing' smily.

Ageed Saley. If it breeches no AUP then removing it against Alans wishes is akin to club sensorship and is wrong. Fred did put a fair explanation for the reason he deleted a thread the other week. The original poster had asked him to, meaning the whole thread was dead.

The removal of my post, in my belief, wasn't censorship though - I've asked for, and received an explanation of what happened. (see my post above) My post was 'an official' post (i.e. it had been sanctioned by the club) therefore it could be argued that the club might want it 'unposted' until the content has been discussed further.

I can't however comment on the removal of 'Saley's thread.

I've been a moderator of another site for a couple of years now I can count on one finger the number of times a thread has been locked and one one hand the number of times a thread has been removed (and only then because they breached the sites rules).

As long as everyone is sticking to the rules then free speech is paramount and healthy debates should be encouraged not stopped in their tracks.

Agreed Michelle. But the original post on the thread in question was, in effect, an official statement. I was incensed when it was removed, but I honestly think there was a misunderstanding here. And it was an official of the club who asked if it could be re-instated.

I don't agree with a lot of what was said, following my post, but fully accept the right of folk to say what they did.

The removal of Saley's post is, in my opinion, an entirely different matter!

I entirely agree with all that. I've stopped posting so much on here as I'm sick of the usual little clique closing ranks whenever an unpopular (with them) comment is made.

I'm still a supporter of licencing, I still think in ten years time it's going to be shown to have been what saved the sport, I'm still a believer in expansion (altjhough as I've always said, the way the RFL do it isn't the right way to do it) and contrary to what some people believe, I DO want to see Leigh in SL, but what I don't want is a repeat of the disaster last time. I'm also still positive that were we up in the promised land all the nay sayers would be doing such a rapid u-turn their heads would spin.

Nothing will change this, no matter how much certain forum members try to bully my views otherwise. I'm big enough and ugly enough - I can take the abuse.
