its the same concept as the pitches ont east. no problems when the pitch is damp or wet but when it dry as a bone either through frost or hot weather they become skin shredding! am sure the solution to the problems of grazing would be to lightly spray the pitch before the game and half time to give the surface a slick feel!
If players are picking up cuts and burns off this surface that they wouldn't pick up on a normal surface then it will have to be improved to reduce that risk.
