Quote: Dick Jones "Im sure members would not turn down the shares we have been offered.
WE are there to raise money to pay for players, and yes over the years we have probably been the biggest sponser and haven't perhaps been given credit for how much money we have raised , however times are changing and we have been promised shares, although this doesn't change anything. It was also said they would back date it.
This season we are sponsering 4 players and our membership is at its highest ever.
Everything is achieveable if we work hard enough to get it.
Once the share thing has been sorted our members will have to elect someone to take the seat.'"
I wish folk would understand that owning a share doesn't mean sitting on a board. Owning a share is vital imo for the supporters, it guarantees transparency amongst other things. Shareholders then elect a working board, which may or may not include a supporters rep. We cannot run our club by committee, we need strong day to day leadership supported by transparency guaranteed by a shareholding.
