Maybe the club could honour Brians memory by having a trophy produced in his honour. Every pre-season the club could arrange a fixture where the two teams play for the Brian Ward memorial trophy. A fitting tribute that would be remembered every pre-season.

edit. or even, the "Brian Ward Memorial" man of the match trophy, to be awarded after every home game.

Just heard this news, very sad. His voice was a constant in all the time I've supported this club, through thick and thin.

He was obviously extremely passionate and must've raised a substantial amount of money over the years.

I will miss those chats my friend ever time we bumped into one another in town .. always passionate about our club and i will miss your honest opinions ..the terraces will not be the same again without you and your battle cry will never be forgotten .. you will be truely missed at each and every game..

Deepest sympathy to his family. Very sad news.

I have many memories of Hilton Park but one that will always bring a smile to my face is the memory of seeing Brian going up and down the terraces shouting 'Half Time Draw' and 'The winners in the ground not outside'. It was just one of the many things as I stood there with my brother behind the sticks that made Sunday at the match such an enjoyable time. Another piece of the Hilton Park past is now gone, but not forgotten.

Sad news indeed for the club and for the town, a man whose life revolved around the club, he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. RIP BRIAN

I am deeply shocked and saddened by this news and my deepest sympathy and prayers are with Brians family. In my time at Leigh Centurions I never met a more passionate fan and I met a few! Brians efforts, passion, enthusiasm and beliefs for the club were unparalleled. Not only did he trawl the stands and terraces with his vociferous half time draw chant he tirelessly trawelled the streets of leigh with the lottery. A honest RELIABLE asset to the club BRIAN you will be sadly missed by many. It is widely stated that the club needs 2500 fans to be sustainable i would say 300 Brian Wards would have done! If only.... The lord above has acquired a great assest and we can rest assured Brian will be doing all he can from his new viewing point. Tipster Ste, I do not know you, but I fully support your suggestion and feel it would be most befitting as I think all will agree Brian Ward WAS the half time draw. I will be insisting with Keith Freer that this is honoured in Brians memory and would urge all those in support to demonstrate that by pledging to support that by agreeing to buy a ticket at every home game next season should the club rename it in his honour. God bless you Brian and give strength to those loved ones at this difficult time x
