Quote: Leyther_Matt "Causes a problem if a player gets a bad injury, as Ricky did, and then clubs are tied down to paying his wages for a couple of years for minimal appearances. Being on one year deals also meant that we could offer reduced terms for much of the contracts offered for 2012, whereas if most of last year's squad were still tied to bigger contracts then we wouldn't have had the chance to restructure the budget to something more affordable.'"
Wrong way to look at IMO, Clubs Coaches and players would prefer continuity and a settled side with a steady player turn over, to get used to systems styles and each other, anyone can pick out isolated reasons why 1 year deals are ok but in reality they don’t particularly help improve side’s teams or clubs.
