I think Rhino should win coach of the year if i'm honest. Powell and Millward have done fantastic things with 2 fantastic squads of players. But Rhino has taken a shoe-string budget Batley side to 3rd in the league above the likes of Widnes, Fax, Barrow etc all who have more money, fans and more 'star' players than them. It's one hell of an impressive achievement and something I don't think Kear will be able to repeat next season.

All true, but potentially Basil *could* win all (realistically) available silverware haveing inherited a team which was relegated two years ago and steared them through and kept them focussed throughout mid-season turmoil.

I think Rhino has done great, but I think it is a reflection of the poor fayre from Fax, Barrow and Widnes that they finished third.

But, I would not swap Daryl for any coach in any division in this country. He is the right man for Fev and hopefully for a long time to come.

It's unfortunate but when we won the GF in 2004 I don't think we won a 'bean' in the awards but got the major prize on the main day.

Correct. Whitehaven got player of the year, coach of the year, groundsman of the year (!) and club of the year and won nowt. Can't remember who got young player, mind.
