Quote: peggy "Glory hunters? I'd hardly call winning the Northern Rail Cup the epitome of glory.
I have noticed that a few people seem to resent those that are going to Blackpool because they don't visit the LSV on a regular basis. Surely people are entitled to view whatever entertainment they like, when they like? Most of the so called "glory hunters" probably see it as a social event as opposed to a rugby game and that is their choice. They will pay for the ticket, transport and peripheral entertainment such as food and drink.
Perhaps if Leigh were in finals on a regular basis the day to day fan base would increase substantialy and sustain the running of the club?
Until then people will and can choose to seek out entertainment as they see fit. The sporting and entertainment industry has changed beyond all recognition since the days when the only thing you could do on a sunday afternoon was watch rugby.'"
No Leyther resents any Leyther coming on Sunday all us regulars want is to get bigger crowds and therefore a more successfull and sustainable club. We are daft that way.
Re the NRC Final well no it is not the Challenge Cup Final but we are where we are and if we could double our crowds who knows what the future holds for our club.
I am just happy we will have a colourful loud and voiciferous following this weekend and just wish it was the same every match we play.
Don.t you ?
