9 years old, all the family and the rest at my dads auntie Ediths because she had a colour telly !! It was a brilliant day, and the 'magic' box brought us as near to Wembely as we could afford. We came out of her house on the corner of Siddow Common and danced on charity farm. Loads of people outside after laughing and smiling.

We stood on Holden Road to see the Victory bus go by. Home made banners, I don't think anyone minded having no sheets left on the beds, and my Auntie Tilly had no lipsticks left as we used them all to write the words

caught the midnight coach at newton le willows with the owd chap brother and mate. Stayed at relatives in woolwich sat night and came home Sunday just in time for the homecoming. We made a banner weeks before the final took it all the way to wembley then left it outside the ground, still cant remember why.
