I do not blame Salford at all for investing heavily in overseas talent. They have to do it. If they did not and everybody else in Super League did, they simply would not compete. You are right to talk of other sports going down the overseas route. The Premiership is even worse for it than Super League. Good luck to you with your imports. Myself and the none Leigh fan Jim Bergerac were simply making a comment on many teams in Super league having to rely on overseas talent to compete. Years ago when Wigan were the only full time outfit in the elite league, they obviously dominated because it was not a level playing field. Similarly, if a Super League team containing eight or so decent Antipodeans takes on a championship side, in theory like you say, they should get a cricket score. Give the championship team eight good Aussies and they would obviously compete. Good luck for the season. I genuinely think you should go better this season. Let's hope so.

Early Nineties, and they were the only full-time club, 'cos all OUR leccy bills were paying their fekkin' wages!!

They obviously weren't generating enough from other revenue streams, as they ended up in the same financial mire as Leigh - were they ended up selling their only tangible asset (CP) to avoid going out of business!!
