Quote FredParky="FredParky"why should he reverse what has turned out to be right, and has been admitted in some quarters of the RFL but NOT publicly'"
I am not saying he should. What I am saying is not whether he was right wrong or he will be put down in history as the next Nostradamus, he should have accepted we wasn't ready and not gone off on one. It wasn't the right thing to because he is questioning the very competition we are taking part in, which then leads to the "Whats the point?" fans not turning up. In private he does all this with the RFL, and in public he takes the set back with dignity and rallies the fans that we will be bigger and better next time etc etc.
Also he must have relised what he said was a mistake because he certainly hasn't done it since. And for the record I think he is doing a very good job and his enthusiasm is there for all to see, with too many things for me to remember and post on here for positives for the club in recent years. Now that is not being bitter is it?
Quote FredParkyso you dont agree that those clubs I mentioned wont or wouldnt see a drop in attendances over a three year period stuck down in the championship? if that be so please explain as all did when last down in the tier below SL thereby proving that even when winning most games that it matters not what their crowds be in the lower league as attendances will go up in a higher division even though the win ratio went down -ours did as did Widnes's and ours has seen a progressive drop since relegation so to compare or try and compare crowd ratios in the two divisions would be false for that reason alone.'"
Of course they will drop - for starters these clubs won't be getting 1000+ away fans to their games. The comp we are in is STILL SL is everything mindset for certain clubs and fans instead of focusing on being successessful in this competition and bigging up how good this comp is. What you put across is if there was automatic promotion back to SL clubs like owden days that crowds would be much better - I have said they would still be poor as evidence has shown.
Quote FredParkyso in saying NO you agree that throwing money away time after time to promote a club in South Wales is a waste of time - I do and history has seen me right three times at least, how many times should it be tried when its obvious that its not wanted'"
NO - I do not say that.

I answered your question in a YES/NO which you asked. Celtic Crusaders didn't work out because Samuels didn't have the dosh/comitment afterall, and some dodgy decision making gave the venture bad press for the game and RL in Wales.
You would only see if its a success 10-15 years down the line had the comitment been there. Welsh are not aliens and are quite similar to people from around here - people round here like/don't like RL believe it or not. If me or thee had Welsh accents and lived down in Sth Wales we probably would have different teams/sports as a past time - but then may get to like a game of RL when a top flight team is suddenly on our door step representing our area. Also can you tell when the other 2 attempts where during summer era? and RL is still being played down there.
Quote FredParkyand i'm sorry but 'outside money' like was spent in South Wales (or as it would now seem not ALL that was said was spent)
Quote FredParkyis just money ill thought out and spent and was a waste, which in itself is like a crime when there is little or no money around, what a waste especially in todays economic climate. To expand the game without first laying foundations is tant amount to being criminal as a tree can't grow without roots, and therein lies the problem with rugby league, we must first strengthen the roots in all areas and let the people who know the best do what they do best without interference from 'big brother'.'"
100 years of lack of money and self interest by clubs produced very little. We are playing catch up here big time.
Quote FredParkyAs Jenky rightly points out at last we are starting to do things in a more proffesional way (another example was the fashion show) and long may it continue, as long as some allow it to happen and loose the old grudges and still being tee'd off at things that went on in the past be it the distant or near past, things have changed and its about time some realised that, and started to really support and get behind The Leigh Centurions.
That is what has happened at Widnes and must happen 'here''"
'"
I am totally behind the club like everyone on here. It doesn't make you any less of a supporter if you point things out that should be done or not done etc on here if its to make the club better in our own opinion. Lets face it the club gets a lot of their ideas from on this forum, so they should listen to critism too.
