Quote: TV BOY "Spot on Matt. The guy who wrote both Terry's and Cris Radlinsky's books said that Cris also suffered when he finaly had to finish playing. He said that when he spoke to Terry he had said that he was finding it hard to keep up with the riggors of the game and even harder coming to terms that it could end. All sports should have some sort of cushion for these people and spot the problems when they are at early stages. These sports stars must feel used when they come to the end of their careers and then are just left to their own devices. Not saying all are like this but the vulnerable ones need to be identified and helped.'"
When you have been used to something for so long whether its sport, or like me I had the Army, its very hard to come to terms with when its over for whatever reason. We had no-one to turn to after the gulf war and I was out on civvy street looking after myself after all those years having the Army doing everything for me.
It must be similar being a pro sportsman then leaving the game you loved with all the comeradery and then having it all taken away. Its a massive life change and someone should be there to help IMO.
