Quote: Honest Joe "Coming off the ground last night, listening to the moans of the crowd who had been subjected to yet another poor performance. I realised that I wasn't really bothered. When we had promotion and winning the GF was paramount, I would have been devastated last night, it would have taken me days to get over it. But today, I'm just not really bothered. Nothing has changed. We weren't going into SL anyway. All it means is we don't have to suffer another match next Friday. That is the most worrying thing I think. If I feel like that, someone who has watched Leigh home and away for over 40 years, how do the casual fans feel?'"
There are many like you.
Championship games do not matter any more. It's the same at the bottom of Super League. You lose. You finish bottom or near to. So what?
There is no incentive any more. No excitement, loss of interest and loss of people going to games.
There are no longer full seasons of regular Sunday games when you either played home or away. Now we have 10 home and away leagues with a daft competion at the beginning. In the middle is thrown a 9s event. What's that about?
The authorities need to have a serious look at the decisions they have made in the recent past, otherwise the game below SL will die.
Maybe thats what they want?
