I am really sorry to hear the negative comments about our club again. We always hide behind the fact that every team has its share of idiots but we do not need to let them get away with this behaviour. I have a five year old who is rugby mad and loves following Leigh. He makes me drive from Lytham every Sunday to watch Leigh and has the home and away kit and as much Leigh merchandise as he can get. We stopped going in the North stand because he was intimidated by these so called fans. I thought the club were trying to attract young families not frighten them away. I must ask the question why was nothing done about these people as it is the same few every week. Kick them out and ban them as I for one do not want them at the club. I know they pay for tickets and the club need every penny but this is a false economy as these idiots will stop young families and away support from coming to LSV. We all complained about the Whitehaven club last week so lets be big enough to look at ourselves and do something about the very small minority of idiots. We were sat in our usual spot in the South stand surrounded by Fax fans and had some really good natured banter. A thoroughly enjoyable game with the wrong result but a fantastic game of rugby league.

if you find yourself in with the opposition fans in football, and you shout for your team you will most probably get turfed out even tho you have paid top dollar to get in. Do we really want to get like that?
How do you stop away fans mixing anyway - membership cards like football? Does the tribal element come into it when the scummy 3 becomes more, and wearing your colours suddenly becomes I better not today while X team is in town.

Brilliant point, my brother is a bolton fan and when he goes to away games he has to wear a big jacket even when it is hot to cover up his bolton shirt until he's in the actual ground. He's learned from past experience that just wearing his shirt outside some grounds is enough to start trouble from other fans.

The friendly banter between fans is one of the greatest things about our sport and we need to do everything we can to stop these sorts of problems from creeping into RL!

It doesn't have to be '200 stewards stood between you' segregation, but 'advised segregation' where there is a recognised spot for away fans - we already have this at Widnes where the majority go behind the sticks but plenty go along the side, while there is effectively self-segregation at the grounds where you can switch ends.
