| As far as I can see the main problem isnt the approach to the roundabout it is the junction from the north car parks onto sale way, it is made worse by traffic from the car park on the other side of sale way add to this the pedestrians trying to cross then it becomes quite dangerous, up until recently the stewards have been doing a good job on alleviating the problem.
Hopefully it can be resolved before too long.

| Don't think its a case of not being believed Fred, the point is they have done it previously and it appeared to work quite well, now they seem to have stopped probably for the reasons you've said, but they still do it prior to the game. Which makes it even more confusing.
And I can't see any reason for where they do stand after the game, are they worried about people taking a short cut across the gravel?

| To be honest it only took me 10 mins to get off the carpark and stopped till the end as my kids like to cheer them off, when the planning was submitted and saw only one exit off the site I feared the worst,so was chuffed to be home 20 mins from game and that included a pitstop at the dirty beer shop to buy one or two celebratery cans

| 20 minutes to get off a car park after a match is nothing, I know the crowds are much bigger but at any Premier League Ground it takes about 45 minutes to get off the car park and thats getting to your cars leaving the game before it finishes sometimes.
I have no issue with getting off the LSV, you just need a bit of patience, plus its free and not a £5 to park like a lot of other grounds.Keep on moaning and they will start to charge and that will cure the delay at getting off

| Loads of premier clubs make you stay on the Car parks to let the pedestrians walk down the roads etc due to the crowd size. It's not just a matter of people getting home quickly but with no stewards* in place pedestrians are also at risk.

Quote FredParky="FredParky"Obviously I'm not believed so I will direct you to the ONLY persons allowed to direct traffic, I for one wouldn't do it as there would be no insurance in force.

Thing is though Fred, Sale Way won't be a public highway yet; for this to happen it needs to be adopted (for example under S37 or 38 of the Highways Act).
As it's not finished, the adopting highway authority (Wigan Corpy to me and thee) should not adopt it as public highway because it's not finished. If they did adopt roads in that condition then every housebuilder in the land would be offereing half built highway to the council for adoption and expecting the council tax payer to pick up the bill for finishing it off.
Therefore the responsibility for Sale Way would currently lie with the landowner which is why we have seen LSV people directing traffic in and out of the village. In fairness to them I've always thought they do a decent match day job too.

| Quote peawapp="peawapp"I brought up this problem following the last home match and was then called a liar by kevin bloody wilson, I hope he's reading this and would like to offer me an apology, although I wont hold my breath, the stewards up to two matches ago were doing a very good job with traffic control but now seem more interested in bullying little boys.'"
i think you owe a few to people first, once you've put your own house in order i might consider it, i don't remember calling you a liar though.

| Quote rugbyballs="rugbyballs"That would work, but I think it was probably a condition of building the stadium that there would be no access to the estate on match days. I have to say that it would be a minimal disruption for residents lasting a few minutes at worst.'"
Well it only has to be used on the way out and the traffic will be for no longer than half an hour if that. What's the point of the access point unless it can be utilised when there is large crowds?
Trust me I went to Marshall Street college back in the early mid 90's and the estate had much worse things to put up with then including heavy traffic.
Surely this is the best solution.

I still bet they wouldn't be covered by any insurance though (the highways act doesnt cover all offences on 'public roads' though as The Road Traffic Act says).
