I note the comments about the referee yesterday.
I didn't think the officials had that bad a performance overall BUT ...
I agree (with you, I think) that there were a few instances where Thunder risked giving away a penalty for 'lying on';
however, of greater significance to both players and the game, there were a number of unpunished 'high shots' and 'facials' from Leigh - one only had to witness the number of facial injuries sported by Thunder players afterwards.
The fact that Leigh finished as close as you did to Thunder was IMHO slightly more down to errors (kicking especially) from Thunder
(That's what this game is all about - debate and banter over a few drinks afterwards)

N'" Maybe the errors came from Leigh putting the pressure on ,did you not think of that, but for the ref dissallowing a perfectly good try from Donlan we would have won . |

| i also think we need to improve our disipline because refs are pre judging us as a team that give away penalties and blowing for the slightest reason, we arent however a dirty team most of the penalties are for technical offences

As a neutral it was an interesting match to watch. I thought Gateshead were the best side going forward but just ran out of steam for the final 20 minutes. They really cannot defend, as shown by two of your tries simply from having a guy on his own just running at the line from 5 yards out.
You showed far more enthusiasm and determination, and could have won if you had a little flair at half back. Leigh lacked that little bit of inventtion that would have made all the difference. Just my opinion of course. |

If we had one half back for any length of time we would of won, but God stole Watto and Tom before the game and Martyn got a bad knock in the 1st half! |
