watched him play for Leigh in early fifties. He was not at his peak while with Leigh but nevertheless was a massive signing at the time. Was a tall and rangy second row and very stylish in most things he did. Was a big pal of Trevor Allen and they lived next door to each other on Warrington road near greyhound. Went back to oz and then came back as vice captain on kangeroo tour when he was at his peak, and relished mixing it with GB pack.

I remember getting to the ground 2 hours before kick off for that match.
