However, Widnes' stated objective is to occupy as many of those qualifying places as possible (i.e a Grand Final place, & NRC Winner) to reduce the number of other teams who can qualify to apply for a franchise, in competition with them. |

Yeah....that'll work
The best way to get into SL is either to win the GF or the Railway Mug, stay solvent (not sniff solvent JENKY) and get the youngsters in the area into the ground (free or otherwise). Posturing with threats of legal action will get you nothing as all applicants have to agree to accept the decisions made before they even apply. (kind of like a prenuptual before he finds out is she's any good in the sack and she finds out if he has any money).
Not saying it's right, just the way it is. |

The problem with that is they only accepted applications last time as long as you agreed NOT to take court action. I think everyone suspected then what was likely to happen. |
