| Think team looks good....im sure i heard Smith back on bench for 2mz....will be good to see him back if it is the case..tough strong player!!! I would defo pick Maden over alstead on wing, he good in defence and comes in and takes up sum great balls with gud yards wen he gets chance!! seems to be taking the from the right hand sides errors wen i think they need to look further up the line. I know alstead not long back from injury but he played terrible the 2 or 3 games he was given. Will be interesting to see Donlan playing stand off...!!!

| He really looked to be struggling 5 minutes from the end of the first half and on and off in the 2nd.

| Quote: Alan "I think he's a terrific prospect too, Keith. He has some excellent natural attributes and good coaching should see him develop into an outstanding player. For some reason, there were those who didn't like Turley either, despite his regular 300-400 points a season! (oh for someone to score 300 points for us now!)
Curiously, the comment about Ian standing behind the tryline reminded me of Stuart, in his first season. He used to stand right on the tryline, always made the tackle, but it was too late, as the attacker just fell over the line. However, someone (Millward?) obviously had a word with him, as he started to position himself away from the tryline and made some outstanding, try-saving tackles.
Frankly, I was disappointed when we re-signed Stuart, purely because I thought that might mean Ian missing out. In my opinion, Stuart is wasted at centre, where we don't/can't get him into the game. So, what's wrong with playing Stuart at full-back, and Ian on the wing? In many ways, wing is like full back, and both could be devastating, backing up breaks/half-breaks - if we could unearth someone to make those breaks!!'"
Completely agree with your comments on morty. All he needs is someone to guide him. One thing this lad will do is listen. He plays for leigh and all he wants to do is do well. He has confidence but cant see that continuing with the current way he is being treated. The comments on playing on the wing seem a good idea, think (if not mistaken) that when he played youth at the miners he used to be a winger? Ok not saying he is the best player we have got but look at it this way, nuture the youth and in a couple of years with the right guidance we will reap the rewards.

| I've never rated Harris and still don't, if the players had given him as much 'hammer' as Fev players gave Watson he would'nt have had time to get the passes out! He certainly could'nt improve the Leigh team because he would have to run!
Having seen the replay I'm not quite as despondant, not quite! :wink

He has all the talent and ability (IMO) and guidance/coaching at this stage could turn him into a star.

| I agree fully with the comments regarding the defence down Sam Reay's side. If you watch, it has been like this in virtually every game I have seen him play. As I have said in a previous post, I have nothing against the lad personally. He seems very amiable and does try, but has played far too much reserve team rugby and low level rugby union for his age. He should really have been in a first team some years ago. He had an unconvincing spell at Donny last year and when watching him play before signing for you, I have always thought he was very average. I genuinely feel he is not currently up to the standard required in this league. I feel sorry for the lad to some extent, but when I have watched you, he really seems to not be at the pace of this league. Players such as Mort, Donlan, Watson, Higson, Maden, Stanton, Rudd etc have all scored or made tries in the league campaign this season. Unfortunately, I do not think Reay has scored once or had any impact on your league games. As I have said previously, he is not rubbish, but he is struggling and in my opinion is not good enough for your team.Watson has only scored a couple of tries, but has made many others and guided the team round the pitch and given 100%, Maden has only scored once or twice I think , but at least he has scored and he made a try on Thursday. Rudd has only scored once but has only played once and has made tries in the same game. Higson has scored tries. You all know that when fit , Alstead will get his fair share of tries. Mort and Donlan seem to score most weeks. Reay,in contrast,is not scoring any points and is looking vulnerable in other respects. I really hope he can improve, but IMO, he does not currently warrant a place in your 17.
