Just think if we had another 200 fans joining any of the LISA, LOTTERY or LC TV 'arms' of the club we wouldn't need the Dual Contract system at Leigh, so there is the answer to all the doubters. moaners, whingers (take your pick) spread the good word instead of the bad for a change, we cant leave it all for the BOD/directors to do after all it's our club is it not? be a part of it for the price of a pint per week you could join all of them.

Is there a way we can all just transfer our wages straight into the club without ever touching it? Imagine who we could buy.

You can mock Jimmy but if people want a club then they have to pay for it. If you dont want to contribute don't it is that simple but don't mock those who do, after all it's the price of a pint not a months wages.

I do contribute, I contribute plenty, what I'm mocking is the tradition of as soon as everything is going good, as soon as theres a bit of a feel good factor about the club, lets try and squeeze a bit more blood out of the loyal supporters, I think after buying home and away shirts, attending meals, poker nights, joining the lottery, the touchdown club, being a member of LISA, Centurion TV, buying tickets home and away, travelling to Whitehaven, Worky, Doncaster, Featherstone etc, it might only be the 'price of a pint' to join LCTV but throughout the year we've already bought a brewery.

This is where you are wrong. I have watched Leigh for over 50 years. We are now in an era where every club is a business. You can't rely on half time draws and lotteries. You have to sell the club as a business. For instance, if Tescos or Asda are selling GMO vegetables which have been contaminated, then you ain't going to buy them. Similarly, if Leigh decide to contaminate the club by merging with Wiggin, then a true Leyther who sees Wiggin as the enemy, well they ain't going to turn up to matches.

It isn't up to the fans to finance the club. It is up to the BOD/BOM to invest money into the club. It is up to the BOD/BOM to finance an independent Leigh RLFC that attracts the best players in Rugby League and therefore attracts top crowds back to Leigh RLFC. Look what Arthur Thomas did. He invested money and he was on the verge of getting a top team back at Leigh RLFC, unfortunately the recession hit him and Leigh hard, otherwise I am quite sure that he would have guided us back into the big time.

I applaud the BOD/BOM for stabilising Leigh and getting them on a level footing, but without real invested money, not the fans' money, the most we can expect is a top four Championship side.

You can all slag me off but that is the truth of the matter.

It's only the truth as you see it. Yes Arthur 'donated' a lot of money into the club and God love him for that, but he also left the club in a big financial mess which left us hours away from going bust (I say donated because that's what he did; there was no investment, he simply signed cheque after cheque without taking care of the business side of things).

How can you say you have watched Leigh for over 50 years when, by your own admission, you don't even go any more. In my mind, that makes you an ex-fan. A fan is someone who supports the team rather than the business and you don't do that.

For every penny spent going to away games not one goes to our club (except perhaps if one travels with LISA) so it's there where that logic is fundamentally flawed.

As for people wanting others to actually pay for their entertainment again it's morally wrong, if people are too mean then say so instead of another excuse to whinge and moan but then again some are making a career out of it on here, and I see the record needle is still stuck.

I have stopped watching Leigh for a reason (Wiggin merger) as have another 4000 fan for other reasons. It is up to the current BOM/BOD to tempt those lost fans back NOT by asking for more money off fans BUT tempt them back by committing to more investment into a Championship winning team. Leigh RLFC is a business - lost fans are possible customers. Tempt them back - don't ask them to subsidise you.
