| With all the talk of how good Trueman is - and he's clearly not having a major influence on the current game - it got me thinking about the ex Wire players who have gone on to have a greater influence in different teams.
Even though he's just been sin binned I'd say Gareth O'Brien has gone on to have a bigger influence in every club he's been at.
Arguably Kevin Brown has at Salford too.
There must be others.

| How ever well O'Brien has gone on to do since leaving us, would anybody be happy if he was brought back to replace Austin or Widdop?

| Although he’s not left Warrington, Powell has faith with Richardson. How would you feel about a Saints rejection for want of a better word following his coach instead of Trueman, who is tied up and obviously someone Radders will want to keep.

Fortunately, we haven't had to sell any player of this calibre, since. However, I just wished we could have unearthed a few more youngsters who were as talented.
Those two seem to be once in a generation types, sadly.

I think Ben Currie and Toby King are the closest we have come to that calibre from our academy since but they're still a way off. I think both of them would flourish under Darryl Powell though and can definitely take a step up from where they're at now. Thewlis in terms of talent and self belief could well go that way but too early to say at the minute. Dean and Longstaff look good too but perhaps not that good, they definitely have the potential to become regular first team though.

| That Harvey Livett looks a good player. We should sign him.

You can split this into a few categories.
1. On an upward trend with us and became stars after leavingbetter[/i after leaving: Sid Domic, Nick Fozzard, Louis Anderson, Richie Myler
3. Better after they left than we had thought they would be: Michael Eagar, David Kidwell, John Wilshere
4. Had better careers after leaving than they would have done staying with us, but not moves we regret: Ian Knott, Jerome Guisset, Gareth O'Brien, Rhys Williams, Matty Russell, Brad Dwyer, Benjamin Julien
5. Left, improved, and came back: Greg Mackey, Gary Mercer, Mike Wainwright, Mike Cooper, Kevin Penny

| Also for my list I just went off the top of my head from the Super League era. If you went back earlier, you could put Andy Gregory, Phil Blake, Billy McGinty, David Lyon and Allan Bateman in category 2, possibly Francis Maloney too. Other posters with pre-SL memories may add some more.

Ha ha for some really weird reason I got him mixed up with Michael Eagar.
I would also like to Add Nick Fozzard .
