Well il go to foot of our stairs, the Facebook/happy clappers are having a riot about the fixtures End of the day it will always be a case it suits some and not others.

Leeds at home with give us a fair indication of where we are at as a team.

Have to disagree with you there,my reason for that is with the World Cup on a lot of our players won’t be back in training with the club till late. So that gives the new recruits to gel with the squad less time, I think our first few games will be really tough till then.

I don't think Catalans away suits many at all. I'll save my money for a holiday during summer.

I don't buy this gel theory. Never have. These are well paid professionals.
We drive a different car, it feels weird for 5 mins, switches in a different position sometimes, ten mins when we are abroad driving on the right...but we are away.

I expect this team to be up and running by halftime...that's ample gelling time.

I can appreciate where you are coming from, however won't this be true for all teams with players away on International duty. I am going to guess that those players with Ireland and Scotland will be back home sometime mid November. That gives them a good 4 weeks off and then on the training paddock with Steve Price. Only Ben MM of our new recruits will be at the World Cup.

Agreed RD. Our existing squad had plenty of time together in Tenarife to gel, and then spent most of the season playing like they'd never met before.

"Gelling" is such a tiny part of the picture compared to motivation, desire, and the actual quality/skill of the players. Hiku didn't need time to gel.

We'll of course go better a few games in, when we're more settled, and form and match fitness start to pick up.

I agree with kirtonLindsey's original point, which wasn't that we'll smash Leeds, it was that playing the champions first game would be a good yardstick. Even if we lose, we'll be able to have a fair assessment of our fairing, vs say if we played Cats at home, rolled them over and put 60 past them.

I think the tough run early doors will help us. No teams are really in their stride at that point and hopefully some 50/50 games will our way in the poorer weather until we start to find our style.

We will have to be on it from day 1 as a start similar to last year wont go down well.
