Thanks to the post we had one kick that didn't totally whitewash us.

I know its the first game and there is a certain amount of rusty stuff, but jeez everything through Joel. Lord help us!!

did wonder what the hell we had been doing in pre-season. Not one good attacking kick all game.

Part of the problem was kick pressure. The amount of times Myler/O'Brien were knocked to the ground after kicking the ball or was rushed into a poor kick was alarming compared to Walsh.

Walsh could wear his jersey again next week, didn't break a sweat nor touch the grass.

It wasn't just pressure on our kickers (which I don't think was anything out of the ordinary), it was also an almost complete lack pressure on their player receiving the ball. Maybe due to the high balls we did bring too deep...

If Stef's going to be split between the halves and fb this season, I really think we need to give GOB regular starting fixtures. It's not good for the lad to be on the bench behind Mick M (which with the best will in the world, isn't a half back) and then thrown in when things go south. Starting with GOB at 6 and Myler/Ratch at 7, depending on injuries, will at least give a bit of stability. I like Richie and Stef but I think together there's a lack of stability, that I think GOB would bring if he's given a chance to settle into the side.

Let's just hope I don't live to regret those words...
