| Hi,
Will be leaving the car on that estate next to the BMW place, anyone had any problems with there car on there before? Looks OK but just double checking, as I don't want to be clamped or window put through, but as I say it looks OK to me? Next Q is whats the grub like in the Wetherspoons? Can anyone recommend? Does it get busy match day etc, normally when I visit Warrington end up in Danny's kitchen but there is only many half and half's you can have Last one, anyone recommend decent boozer always end up in the Rodney when Salford play, anywhere you can get a Joey Holt's in Warrington. Much Love cheers

| There were reports of car windows being smashed during a game a few weeks ago, not sure where it was but police patrols have apparently been stepped up since. Weatherspoons is standard Weatherspoons.

| If you are planning on going to Wetherspoons (Looking Glass not Friar Penketh) then you might as well park on the Cockhedge car park opposite, they leave it open overnight so won't cost you. In terms of good pub food Warrington town centre is a bit of a desolate wasteland, no home made fare to my knowledge anywhere.
If you want real ale I would suggest the lower angel two doors down from Spoons, or come out and walk down the side of the big grey building opposite towards the church until you get to the Tavern (AKA Wilkies).
Sadly there are no other pubs that I would recommend going out of your way for I am afraid!

| There are two spoons in the town centre. The closest to the HJ is the Looking Glass which is nicely decorated but tends to get packed on match days.
The other is only 5 minutes further walk, and is the Friar Penketh. Larger and easier to get served. Food is OK, typical pub grub, couple of nice curries on the menu.
Contrary to other postings, there are some decent places to eat in the town centre, nando's, Ask, Pizza Hut, Grill on the square (not cheap), East orient (cracking Asian buffet opposite bus station), couple of Italians on Time Square.

I would rather eat gnaw my own testicles off than step foot in that buffet place! Plenty of restaurants but in terms of pub grub you are limited to spoons and the Barley Mow. Blue Bell does food but never tried.

Which probably amounts to the same thing. The smell walking past there knocks me sick.
The the OP, I've sent you a map of a good place to park
