Doesn't sound like they were insured. Was a locked freight container out near the pitches I think. Very hard to insure I would have thought. All I know is they're already talking about fundraising events to raise the money.

Woolston, of a fashion survived Bennetts Rec being torched, and the pig-headed parish council refusing to let them build anything but changing rooms in it's place.
There are loads of funding opportunities available if they pull their finger out and look. Hold a fund raising night ie a race night, auction, sell advertising space. I'm thinking if it was a lock up that got torched the kit wouldn't have been left in there (it'd get damp/rot) - that's pretty much all the club need to provide to get a game on away at least.
Get inventive in training - i mean you only need a few balls and some cones really. In terms of playing - play away games until you can get the gear needed to host home games again.
Being far too dramatic. Stop whinging and start acting to repair/replace.

Some good points and pretty good suggestions . . . . . . until that last bit, which was pretty much uncalled for. Who's whinging? Certainly not Easts. They'll just knuckle down and get on with it, like always. |
