What did we think of the new location of the big screen, could any of you in teh south stand see it better, or was it just as hard to see from where you were?

For the first 30 seconds of the game the score at the bottom was only half on the screen. I considered going home in protest.

Better but too low

Could see the the screen, but when a VR decision was needed was near impossible to see the detail between Try/No Try.

A little better but not much!!

I am a East stander so struggled with the eld eyesight a little bit to get a good look..

May be worse in a couple of months time with a Saturday evening kick off if the sun is still out throwing shadows at the screen,but for what its worth most people will be happy with its new posistion..

That was my thoughts as well, it was as though the riggers had got fed up & said that will do lads!

The way it was held in place with ropes and straps so it swung about in the wind was very very professional

My mum and dad were livid, said they couldn't see a thing from their spot in the South.

Like others have posted I also think it was too low. When the framework went up I had this mental picture of the top and bottom of the screen slightly overlapping the top and bottom of the framework but as FC said, it looked like that got it part way up and said "that will do". Then again the wonderful cabling laying for the 3D cameras appeared to consist of "lets stick a ton of gaffa-tape over these wires" so nobody pulls them up.


If I might also inteject another observation. The game was a sell-out BUT the South Stand didnt seems as RAMMED as normal. It was full but not as bad as previous games. Is the extra space of the SE corner working?

Better for me for where we stand in the south stand ourselves, at least I could kind of see whether a try/no-try decision was coming up. Very difficult to make out anything else on it, though.

We stand between halfway and 40m line (east end), not far from the top, so I was hoping to see a big improvement on the old position - where we couldn't see it all. Sadly - partly from it being too low - whilst we could see it, we couldn't see any detail for the video ref decisions

Not where we were! It was absolutely packed. I think the sections that the occasional fans choose to go in must vary from match to match as it's not always like that for the sell-outs. We still have the same problems arising from the steps being too narrow - the crowd doesn't automatically spread out to fill the spaces evenly and many people insist on standing adjacent to the yellow steps and then refusing to move to allow others in.

Two lads were looking for space down in the SE corner. They insisted there wasnt anywhere. The steward asked some people at the front to just take a step to the side and make a pathway and told the lads "there you go lads, room for you there". This space was about 4 rows back from the front BUT it was in the centre of the section.

Another 6 foot higher and it'd be reet.

Needed to be on the west to north corner for me. The north stand crowd are not the most enthusiastic, so are bit slow in cheering. When video ref has called correct decision,so if it was facing the south you would get more of response.

From the place i was in south on Friday it was no different to where it was last time.

I stand in the South West so couldn't see a thing! Nervy stuff waiting for a crowd reaction to tell what happened.
