I know this may be a long shot, but does anybody know if I can buy the 1974 Challenge Cup Final on DVD at all? If so, where can I buy it from and how much will it cost? I've looked on google and can't find it, so I suspect there isn't any footage available and the BBC probably won't release it.
The events on Saturday sent me back to 1974 and I'd love to be able to watch that final as well.
I remember a banner at Wembley in 1974 that read "Nash's trash is Gordon's mash", referring to Steve Nash of Featherstone and the great Parry Gordon.

I have a copy but to be honest as the quality is that poor its hardly worth watching, i tried everywhere for a decent copy including the regular rugby league dvd sellers on ebay but drew a blank, i emailed the BBC to ask if they would be releasing any further challenge cup games from the past as i was interested in a copy of the 1974 challenge cup final but its something they won`t be doing in the near future.
You will struggle to get a copy thats worth watching. i will also be interested if someone has an excellent quality version of this game.

Just be on the safe side i would ring the Featherstone shop and ask them is it a BBC video or just a club production, with the club production ones they are more often than not just one camera angle for everything and most commentaries on the club productions ones sounds like its a fan who took a wrong turn on route to his seat in the stand and ended up in the commentary box by accident  |
