| Seems with all the ticketing chaos and looking forward to Wembley, organising travel etc that we have all moved on rather too quickly from that wonderful day on Saturday.
The weather was kind and after all the hoolabaloo about stadium capacity the one thing that the "tightness" of the Stobart Stadium did was to generate a terrific atmosphere. Whist an extra thousand or two on the capacity may have been ideal I can't believe that a barely two-thirds full Reebok/Graphalm would have been anywhere near as good fun.
Can't comment for the other stands but the Warrington fans in the South Stand were a credit to the club which is not something that can be said for us through-out this season. Of course winning makes it easy to enjoy yourselves but even before the match the Warrington stands were party central compared to the sombre look of the Pie-Munchers. Obviously a bit of trouble near the end in the west stand but to be fair beer, sun and a defeat for one team meant that a little rumble was always going to happen. Somebody should have took Danny Dyer in there with them.
As for the team: thank you.
Briers and Monas have rightly been widely praised and marvelous they both surely were. Watching it back on video it all got very embarassing for the fat guy in the red and white head-guard and tight shorts. Never before have I witnessed any player on a professional RL pitch ever picked out as a weak link to such effect.
Mathers won with dignity. He could have been forgiven for giving the Wigan fans plenty at the end but he seems to have put that nasty part of his life into the cupboard, forget about it and looks a very happy Wire.
I'm also going to pick out Matt King for praise. Didn't hear too much about Tomkins' great defence on Saturday did we; I thought it was young Myler who couldn't tackle. Its great to see King smiling. Louis Anderson maintained his recent up-turn in form and is looking a very useful player in-deed.
Finally a little mention for Michael Cooper. For a twenty year old who has had to go through what he did with his broken leg and near death experience he is one hell of a prop. Big future ahead for him (Squadbuilder product to boot as well).
Can't finish with-out the biggest thanks of all: cheers Tony we all owe you a drink come August Bank Holiday (and beyond).

| it was even better sat amongst the wigan fans, and in front of some RFL 'guests' who were being less than well behaved themselves supporting the wire.

He will deserve it if he contributes to a winning performance.
Clearly he has never done this in the past and thus has never deserved to be in a final, i suspect that the same scenario will occur tomorrow.:30555.jpg |

| Very good post PY. TBH, the game the other day was a highlight for me in RL.
It was outstanding, and the atmosphere was second to none.
The players (every single one of them) deserve a pat on the back, despite some folk still slagging off the likes of Johnson and Clarke.

Did any LFC fans object to singing a Yanited/Everton song?

| We had a family of three sat in front of us, who had a boy aged five. He alone made my semi-final.
As i was biting my finger nails and my mate was closing his eyes when Wigan were chasing, he wondred what all the fuss was about! He knew we were going to win, he kept saying
And as i had tears in my eyes when Hicks went over, he told me to stop been a girl and enjoy it instead of crying! A little legend in the making. Had me in stitches all through the game.

| It was a fantastic day. For the neutrals it was a fantastic advert for our great game of rugby.
The fans in the majority were excellent what a great site to see all four sides of the ground stand up (not everyone on some sides obviously) when the chant of "if you love wires stand up" rung round the stadium.
The players gave it everything they had and I was impressed with how the conducted themselves at the hooter, celebrate but not OTT.
