With Catalans turning Hull KR over 23-12 the gap between ourselves in 7th and Hull KR in 3rd is now down to 3 points

8 games into the season and sneaking into the top 8 was all we could aspire to.
Just goes to show what a new coach and an injection of confidence can do for a team ( and the fans as well )

How good would a top 3 finish be? It would send the right message out tithe rest of the 8. We've not been playing well and have been winning, I would take that all season long. Roll on Saturday, can't wait

However I think on our current form we could well be following you up the table, the early pace setting teams like KR and Quins are both really struggling for form now and will just drop down the table. Its a lot closer than it should be between 3rd and 8th.

Third may be too much to hope for even with those above us doing their best to throw their league positions away. But with Huddersfield playing Wakey tomorrow, then Wakey entertaining Leeds and 'Quins playing Huddersfield next week, we are ideally placed to climb a little higher. Fourth by the end of the season should be acheivable.

Obviously, next week also depends on us turning Saints over

However, being Wire I can see us losing another thriller next week before a several week hangover which will leave us hoping that those above us drop points to allow us to sneak back into the eight before the end of the season

I think 3rd is just a tad too far with the amount of games left.
It not about if HKR fall back, its about Quins, Wakey and the Giants who will not all also drop.

4th is more realistic i believe. Listen considering the start to the seson we had, I'm more than happy where we are

Reading on your forum you may have problems:-

"lockers has done his posterior cruciate ligament (knee ) which means a lengthy spell out. Heard Hansen has broken a bone in his hand . micky mac injured too."

Other forums read:-
Hansen with a broken hand will be 6 - 8 weeks.
Smith could be the season.
Mike McLlorum - done his medial ligaments - 6 weeks min,
Sean O'Loughlin 6 to 8 weeks.
Hock - 2 years.

With all those out you could struggle - all unconfirmed as yet though.

Wakeys next three games

Huddersfield away, Leeds home & Saints away.

We can defo reach 3rd in our current vain of form i can see us winning our next 5 including Leeds.

We need to watch our position in the top eight. We're only 2 points ahead of Wigan and Catalans are starting to get it together, if them and Cas win their games in hand they are only 2 points behind us. We can't afford a bad run.

Also weren't people saying we should sacrifice some games in the league to help us get to Wembley. If we lose 3 or 4 games in the league to try and win that semi then it could be curtains for the playoffs.

And that is with the good run of form that have been on which in the last 6 matches is only matched by saints and leeds without it the playoffs would be long gone.

Just take it week by week. If we carry on with the same pattern of results, win a few, lose one, win a few, we'll finish 3rd. If we lose more than that, we could finish anywhere between 4th and 10th.

Unless we can run up a few large scores before the end of the season, our points difference could cost us a place or two in the final league table.
