| The thing i like about Sam Tomkins is he isn't a one trick pony, he has plenty of strings to his bow. He has a very good short kicking game which has lead to quite a few tries for Wigan from what ive seen this year, he can step and has a great turn of foot from a standing start. He can also support really well and open up defences with ball in hand.
Richie Myler is good at supporting anything that moves and he defends well but apart from that ive not seen a great deal to put him in the same bracket as Tomkins or Eastmond danger wise, Myler needs to take on the line more because our half backs are not really noted for making breaks that often.
Lee Briers is excellent at what he does, he's a great organiser with a very good short kicking game but he's not a Tony Myler or John Woods type stand off that looks to take on the line at every available oppertunity. He does it occasionally but more often than not he`s looking for a kick late on in the tackle count.
Richie Myler is great when our forwards are steam rolling the opposition, he can run off the shoulder and he'll recieve the ball more often than not. I just don't see our half backs as line breakers on a regular basis, i'd say thats one of our weaker areas especially against the top sides.

| Quote Rogues Gallery="Rogues Gallery"He has a fantastic temperament. He's been getting poop knocked out of (targeted) since he was 15 .
He just gets up and gets on with it, last Friday being a prime example. Of course he's a niggly little sod, wasn't Murphy, Edwards (Jackie and Shaun), Andy Greg, Paul Bishop, Lee Bries etc.
You could question Myler asking for try at Wigan when he was nowhere near the ball, or was that gamesmanship.
Fine line isn't it?'"
He fell like he'd been shot in that game when he ran into Carvell and got a penalty. He doesn't just get on with it, he tries to be hard and kicks out or mouths. Multi talented but an ugly, nasty little player.

But as someone who has watched him in over 100 games that he has played I would think I was in a better position to judge his progress, would you not agree?

So you've seen him twice. Well done.
Of course you're entitled to your opinion.
Even if it's wrong.
Why did he get young player of the year last year?
Why did YOUR coach pick him for England?

Who are you; his Dad? You want to get out more Rogues.
No-one is suggesting he isn't an excellent player (well, no-one sensible) but you've shot your load by saying the poor lad has the 'potential to be an all time great', assuming that isn't an oxymoron in itself. Talk about piling on the pressure...

He started at Wigan at 16, and I saw most of his academy home games, and a few away.
I saw all his first team games last season plus some of his academy games.
I've seen all his games this season.
I'm not his dad, but was sat close by him on Saturday watching Logan playing for Wigan U18's.
I'll stick by what I've said, that is, if he continues to progress the way he has then he has a CHANCE to become an all tine Rugby League great.
He's certainly the best I've seen since Shaun Edwards, that's how highly I rate him.
As I've always said it's about opinions and than God we all different ones, otherwise life would be boring.

Dont argue with em Rogues. If he was a Dire player they would say he already is one of the world greats. He will be one of the best in the very near future they're just bitter cos they lost the scouse derby last week and lost the battle to catch us.
