now lets get things into perspective, several turnstile operators failed to turn up on sunday, every stand had a shortage. in ther west people were q'ing from half two. it was a logistic problem caused by lack of staff not people turning up last minute. along with broken turnstiles.

Most of the posters on this thread has proved my theory that a lot of "Wire " fans on rlfans are either severly uneducated or have been supporting the club since 2005 and cant spell Wilderspool never mind tell you where it is. Or both.

Lets be honest, there wasnt a huge following from the cas fans. So why did they have to wait so long to enter a stadium that Cas fans by their own admission would love to have. Whether it was because of staff shortages, broken turnstiles or because our stewards are idiots, it shouldnt have happened.

If we went to Belle Vue, Wheldon road or The Willows and that happened to our fans. What would our reaction be. Would Mistah lee come on and say its your own fault because you wasnt in 4 hours before kick off? Would Wire Yed come on and make sarcastic comments to everyone who's location isnt Warrington?

The club messed up. And we need to make sure it doesnt happen again. Fans who travel and pay money deserve better.

not that you'd make sweeping stereotypes yed, not you! i take offence at what you have said. as an ex club bouncer and occasional steward in the past, it's ussually drunk fans who make unreasonable demands from stewards. sunday for example people were screaming at officials to open extra turnstiles, when informed there were not enough operators several people made comments like "why don't you take the money you fat c**t" to a female steward! very nice!

those few and far between you desscribe eventually turn into jobsworths because no matter how nice you try and be some drunken tit eventually gets right up your nose.

i chose to pack the job in after 22 years 'cause i knew it was only a matter of time before i gave someone an attitude adjustment!

i have a degree, work full time as a nurse in A&E, am used to obnoxious punters, it's you punters who should take a big look in the mirror at time! every one becomes a soap box lawyer when theY've had a beer, often forgeting assertiveness does not involve behaving in a threatening and abusive way.

erm... pot and kettle spring to mind about opinions. You are the one making a ludicrous case that bouncers are somehow pillars of the community.

Not pillars of the community but they are not all gun-toting murderers either. I have met some nice helpful stewards and some complete idiots. Stereotyping is almost always negative but rarely are a group of people always the same.

thank you, very well put, i am aware that over the years i have worked with some idiots, however i have worked with some real nice people from all walks of life, social backgrounds and temperaments . likewise i have met some nice punters and some lowlife scum, i have never prejudged them or treated them with disrespect. in your case mark i will however guess that you do prejudge people before ever meeting them..thus making you worse than most. now please leave your predjudices at the door!
like or dislike them they do a job i feel you are incapapable of doing without the fear of being an opinionated ass who would without doubt wind every one up into the biggest public disorder occasion known to mankind!

Not really because I worked on doors myself for a short time as a student. It is better than it was admittedly but you only need to read the news nationally and locally to realise there are a lot of undesirables.
