| Quote: rubber duckie "aye, a winger is only as good as his centre presents him the ball.'"
Now who was that well know winger that played at Stains outside Mal Meninga?
As the Rubber fella says the Centre is the key to any success that a resurgent KP would have.
What a joy it would be to see Briers or Myler having the choice to kick over the top for KP and then again a short chip for the other strike players. The opposition defenes should be in two minds all game.

| Quote: Winslade's Offload "Interesting that you have probably seen more of him than the rest of us. I only saw him play one game, and he did seem a lot more street wise than when he was with us. backing his pace inBut what did ]you mean by ' all situations' ?]
Not passing ?'"
I can't remember who the Lions were playing against but he scored an absolute belter from 80 metres out that only a player in Penny's mould could have. Skinned 3 or 4 with speed rather than footwork. Five minutes later he'd been bundled into touch on tackle 2 or 3 when he should have cut infield. Later on in the game he almost did the same thing be managed to throw the ball back before ending up in the seats. It's great that he has the confidence to take on the opposition and use his speed (of which he looks like he's lost none) to its best effect. Sometimes his enthusiasm (not knocking him) gets in the way and puts him in trouble.
On the whole he looks a better player to me but whether he can use the extra experience he's gained and put it all together at SL level is another question. Personally I'd love to see him given another chance, just as long as we can all stand the anxiety that comes with him. Still a great player to watch.

| I think it was versus Salford a few years back a kick over the top for Penny to run on to, I don't know how many he skinned but he scored a try he had no right to score just with his pace, he kicked it over the line and dived on it, cracking try.

| It was a scrum on our 20, briers kicked into open space. Penny flew past the Salford back line and scored. Remember Stevo banging on about it.
If he is signing all needs to do is give 100% and he will get my full support, like all the other wire players do.

| Penny offers one thing that is lacking from our back division - searing pace.

| As Mr Murphy was commented (about Johno) "I wouldn't like to chase him down the M1, he can certainly motor".
He always seemed to be a player who's game was built around confidence and fitness. When he was fully fit and on form his pace did the rest and any perceived defensive frailties were overlooked, but his confidence seemed very fragile. Maybe it was the regime, maybe the coaches, maybe his colleagues don't know.
Still if it's a straight choice between Williams & Penny I'd go for Kev, because he was probably the fastest thing (with the very notable exception of Offiah) I've seen in a RL shirt, let alone a wires one and serious, SERIOUS pace is severely lacking in the modern game.

| Offiah had that long flowing speed. Penny would have a good yard on offiah over the 20.

| anyone got the try he scored at headingley when he burst onto the scene? At the time i thought we had the most exciting winger i had seen since offiah.

| You can't teach that kind of pace and I for one was disappointed how it ended for Kev. He was still wet behind the ears in RL terms and expectation went through the roof, he was the new Offiah. If he comes back good luck to him, if he still has that pace it will be an edge of the seat job when he is on the move.
